Structures

Structure your wealth so it outlasts the unexpected.

Trusts, holding arrangements, and cross-border structures that separate personal liability from business risk and ensure assets reach the right people.

When a structure matters — and when it doesn't

Not every client needs a formal structure. If your assets are straightforward, your liabilities are low, and your estate plan is already documented, a structure may add cost without adding proportionate protection. But when business risk is meaningfully entangled with personal wealth — or when assets span multiple jurisdictions, or when you want to control how capital passes to the next generation — a well-designed structure becomes one of the most durable protections available. We work with regulated legal and tax professionals in Kenya and, where cross-border structures are relevant, in relevant offshore jurisdictions. Our role is to define the strategic objective, coordinate the professionals, and make sure the result is something you understand and can maintain.

The structures we help design and coordinate

Each type solves a distinct protection or succession problem.

Family trusts

A Kenyan or offshore trust separates legal ownership from beneficial enjoyment, protecting assets from business creditors and providing a clear, private succession path outside probate.

Holding companies

A holding structure between you personally and your operating businesses limits the contagion risk — a liability in one entity does not automatically threaten assets held in another.

Cross-border arrangements

For clients with assets in multiple jurisdictions — property in the UK, a business in Kenya, cash offshore — we coordinate structures that are coherent across borders and do not create accidental tax exposure.

Estate and succession planning

Documented, up-to-date wills, letters of wishes, and power-of-attorney arrangements that ensure your intentions are clear and legally enforceable without requiring court intervention.

Honest limits of structural solutions

Structures are not tax evasion vehicles, and we do not design them as such. Any arrangement we help coordinate is legal, disclosed, and maintainable — meaning it doesn't require constant complexity to sustain. We're also honest when a simpler solution achieves the same goal: a well-drafted will and a clear beneficiary nomination on a life policy can sometimes replace an elaborate trust at a fraction of the cost and annual maintenance. Our job is to find the right level of structure for your situation, and to explain the real cost — in time, professional fees, and ongoing compliance — of every option we put in front of you.

“We had a family business, a rental portfolio, and three children with very different financial situations. Lifestylepathx mapped the whole picture, introduced us to the right lawyers, and in about four months we had a holding structure and a succession document that actually reflected what we wanted — not a generic template.”
